Infinite Zest

Infinite Zest (a cocktail)

Welcome to the first cocktail I’m sharing from Tequila Mockingbird by Tim Federle.

This drink is named after Infinite Jest (1996) by David Foster Wallace and chosen by me because the ingredients made me think of my recent visit to Sicily, where Limoncello is everywhere!!!

This is a strong, martini-like cocktail, so a little goes a long way!

In a shaker, add

  •     2 oz vodka
  •     1 oz limoncello (which is basically a sweetened lemon flavored vodka)
  •     ½ oz lemon juice (I recommend fresh…from an actual lemon)

Add in some ice, shake, pour into a martini glass.   Garnish with either a small slice of lemon or a twist of lemon peel.  Feel free to add more lemon juice and then add sugar to the rim to balance it!  Play with it, see what you like!!!

Note: I used our homemade limoncello, so my drink is pretty clear.  Store bought limoncello tends to have more yellow color and is a little cloudier.  It will make your cocktail look a little different, but it should still be delicious!

Grab a book, pucker up and enjoy!!!!
