Say You’re Sorry by Melinda Leigh
This one was recommended to me by my husband. We don’t always have the same taste in books, but sometimes we do. This is a perfect example of the book stars aligning.
There is a lot going on in this book, so it appeals to lovers of many genres.
- Do you enjoy women’s fiction? ☑
- Family drama?☑
- Lawyer/police procedural?☑
- A little Romance?☑
Then add in several characters that you can’t help but love…you end up with a great book.
The Premise: Morgan is the mother of 3 young girls, just starting to get back into the workforce (and life in general) after mourning the death of her husband. She is a lawyer, just recently hired as a prosecutor for the DA. But then big things happen in their small town. Her babysitter, Tessa, is murdered. The suspect is Nick, Morgan’s neighbor. Morgan was close with both Tessa and Nick and she just can’t believe Nick did it. With the help of an old friend, Lance, she switches hats and becomes his defense attorney.
So much happens…it’s frustrating, scary, romantic, heartbreaking, maddening and utterly enjoyable.
And, best of all, it’s not the end!!! There is a whole series of books (The Morgan Dane series), currently either 6 or 7 in total. Good thing I still have some empty space on my bookshelves for all of these!!!!
