The Brutal Telling by Louise Penny
Number 5 in the Inspector Gamache Novel and my favorite so far. Penny has a knack for really odd murders and this one is no exception. Although, in truth, I guess it’s not the murder that was so odd it in this one, but what happened after.
The premise: A body is found in a bistro. This brings Inspector Gamache back to the quaint little town of Three Pines to investigate. (Penny does a great job of painting this wonderful town, but I would never live there as it seems people are murdered often!!) Since Three Pines is such a quaint small town, the inspector immediately notes it odd, that nobody knows who the dead guy is.
This book is full of unique characters and an interesting murder, making this a great Fall read!
