A Good Girls Guide to Murder

A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

As I have mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of the YA (young adult) genre, but I find a good one can be a perfect summer read.  YA tends to be lighter reading (even if the topics are on the serious side), and the teens are always so smart!  🙂

The Premise:  High school senior, Pip, chooses an unusual topic for her capstone project.  She wants to take a look at how social media affects a murder investigation.  She choses this topic because she really thinks a mistake was made in a local murder case and she wants to investigate it herself.  Pip ends up befriending the brother of the guy who murdered a local girl 5 years ago.

A Good Girls Guide to Murder can be described as Season 1 of the podcast Serial meets I Know What You Did Last Summer.  Despite the topics of murder, drugs and suicide, this is a fun and cute murder mystery.

If that sounds like something you might enjoy, pick up a copy today!

  1. omg this series is a RIDE! 😂 I love a good girls guide to murder with all my heart, and Pip and Ravi have a brilliant amount of page time amidst a clever plot. I liked hearing your opinion though. You write super well! I finished the series recently, ranted a bit more and talk about why book 3 is controversial in my review here 😊 If you enjoyed book 1 I’d really recommend it! https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2022/08/11/a-controversial-thriller-as-good-as-dead-review/
